Liquidlense was formed by me, Andy Colley.

It is a Underwater photo school and gallery, dedicated to teaching Underwater photo techniques, and skills through  knowledge development and practical skills workshops.

My interest in photography, began on my 18th birthday.

A girlfriend gave me a Russian range-finder camera as a gift.  It was a completely mechanical affair and I didn’t have a clue what to do with it.

After many failures and some limited success, college seemed a good idea. I grew to love the art of image making.

My twenty years has a professional photographer on dry land  were immensely enjoyable.

Diving came later in life. I learned to dive with my two sons, after  many “Try Dive” sessions on family holidays abroad. Taking  a camera underwater seemed a natural thing to do. But it was a few years later before I got round to actually doing it.

In hindsight this was a personal mistake. Taking my camera underwater for the first time, was like going back to those exiting early years with the Russian range-finder.
